My name is Justin Hale and I am a Christian, a father, a U.S. Marine veteran, and a former police officer with over 20 years of experience in instruction. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of training U.S. Marines, service members, law enforcement officers, churches, schools, and everyday civilians. My passion lies in ensuring that every student is fully prepared—not just to hit a target, but to face the unimaginable and make critical decisions that could save lives.
If you're seeking an instructor who will go the extra mile to equip you for whatever life throws your way, I would be honored to be that person. Together, let’s confront these challenges—with faith, courage, and the understanding that we are never alone on this journey.
I know there are plenty of instructors out there. Some are focused on getting people in and out as fast as possible, more concerned with the dollar signs than with the lives they touch. Others focus entirely on marksmanship, ensuring you can put holes in paper. While that’s important, it’s only one small piece of true self-defense. My approach is different. When you train with me, my goal is to give you the tools you need to be fully prepared—before, during, and after a life-threatening situation.
After serving in the Marine Corps and spending over a decade in law enforcement, I witnessed firsthand the realities of violence and conflict. I don’t just teach you how to shoot; I teach you how to survive. My priority is making sure you understand the difference between justified and unjustified use of force, which can determine whether you stay free or spend years separated from your loved ones. When you leave my training, I want you to have the wisdom and clarity to act with confidence—not just with a firearm, but with the mental preparedness to face whatever may come.
Faith is the cornerstone of my life, guiding every decision I make and shaping my values. I truly believe that all things are possible through Jesus Christ, and I strive to infuse this passion and conviction into every class I teach. I see a profound connection between faith and self-protection; it’s not just about defending oneself but about safeguarding what God has entrusted to us—our loved ones, our communities, and our very lives.
There can often be confusion surrounding the concepts of retribution and self-defense. Some people view self-defense as a form of retaliation, believing that defending oneself goes against their faith and moral values. However, I believe that self-defense is fundamentally different from retribution. While retribution is driven by a desire for revenge, self-defense is about the instinct to protect oneself and others from imminent harm. It is a response to a threat, not a reaction fueled by anger or vengeance.
This misunderstanding can lead to hesitation or fear in individuals who want to protect themselves but struggle to reconcile their faith with the necessity of self-defense. It's essential to recognize that self-defense does not equate to seeking revenge; it is about preserving life and ensuring safety.
The Bible tells us in Nehemiah 4:14 (ESV): “And I looked and arose and said to the nobles and to the officials and to the rest of the people, ‘Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes.’” This verse embodies the spirit of protection and encourages us to stand firm for those we love.
I believe God has equipped us with protectors right here on Earth—police officers patrolling our streets, firefighters safeguarding our homes, nurses saving lives, and everyday individuals who stand up to protect themselves and others. This conviction is why I offer free training to places of worship; I want to empower communities to be vigilant and prepared.
My training is forged in faith, built upon my extensive experience, and sharpened by the lessons I’ve learned throughout my journey. I live by the verse Joshua 1:9, which reminds me to "be strong and courageous." Together, let's embrace the challenges ahead with faith, knowing that we are never alone in this journey.
